Approaching the Dawn of Day

Approaching the Dawn of Day

As people age many things occur. Looking at my pictures when I was a little girl, and then gazing at the mirror, I see physical changes in me; climbing up the ladder of growth and maturity.

I remember when I was younger, I was in a hurry to grow up. I always say that adults have many privileges. They can do this; we can’t do that. Adults have this; we don’t have that. Adults get what they want. But then, I realized I shouldn’t really be in a hurry to grow up. I must enjoy every minute of me experiencing life.

I observe the elderly people, it’s like they’re going back to being young. Just like how a little toddler crawls, an old person’s back gradually hunches over time then he goes back to walking as slow as the little kids do. Their way of thinking goes back to being slow like that of a child. They forget little things until they can’t even remember who you are, no matter how important you are to them. Their skin becomes wrinkled. Their body’s defenses start to weaken so they become more prone to different kinds of illnesses. Hearing and eyesight diminishes. It’s the sad truth. Yet as people age, their character still remains in them.

Everyone will age. We, too, will realize that we are going to be old someday. It will definitely come. So let’s not be in a hurry to grow up. Enjoy every moment of our lives. Let’s be happy and live life to the fullest. Let’s treasure the parts in our lives that we are strongest, because life ends just like it started
